If your browser doesn’t display the Arabic, or you simply don’t read Arabic, Google tells me that this says:

Early in 2009 someone translated some pages of UserBase into Arabic. Unfortunately (s)he did so as an unregistered user (which we no longer allow) and so we have no way of contacting him (the main reason for disallowing the practice). To my untutored eye, much of what is there is probably still valid, but there are updates and corrections needed. I’m reluctant to lose this work, which could easily be copied and pasted into the new Translate system, but it really needs someone capable of spotting the things that are no longer quite right and correcting them.
If you know someone who may be willing to help it could either be directly translating into UserBase (and I will provide links to the old pages) or by telling me to delete paragraph “da-di-dah” and substitute “da-di-dah-di-dah”. There are always ways and means – we just need a little skilled help

I’d be happy to help translating. I read and write arabic well
I finally found the page that started the whole discussion – it’s at http://userbase.kde.org/Welcome_to_KDE_UserBase_(ar). I suspect that it is a translation of an out-of-date page, but I’d love to see Arabic back on the translation list.
I know at least one Arabic KDE user, and I can ask in the local (Israeli) LUG for more. Give me a few days.
Anne, from looking at the HTML of your post it looks like something went wrong with cut-and-paste, since it *really* has nothing but question marks there. Perhaps you can link to the original?
First let me apologise to all who answered. I’ve no idea how I came to miss these offers, and I’m truly sorry.
We gave up on the page from which I originally quoted – as far as we could tell the paragraphs didn’t match the English one, or anywhere reasonable near, so there was a fair chance that it was significantly out of date. As for the display – it showed perfectly on UserBase, so I guess it’s not an installed fonts problem, but I have no idea what it would have taken to get WordPress to display it properly. Sorry.
To all of you who offered help, and in particular to Mohammed Bassit, we still do need Arabic translators. Currently we don’t have one at all. If you are willing to help, use the link in the sidebar to sign up for a translator account. We have how-to pages and can help you get started.
You might want to contact the guys at http://www.arabeyes.org, as far as I know most(all?) of the open source translation to Arabic goes through them.
