Are you joining the Translation army?

Just a reminder – if you are going to trans late in UserBase you need to

  • request addition to the Translator group
  • when you have confirmation, open the page Special:LanguageStats/your-country-code to see which pages need your attention
  • Please don’t use the redlinks in the old language bar – those pages will be lost when migration is complete.
  • Those in the Translation group should be able to see “Translate this Page” on any page that has been prepared.  That link takes you to the page where you choose your language.

  • Cool to have this tool, I was dreaming about it for really long; could the info on joining translations be on http://userbase.kde.org/Help:Contents?

@jstaniek: The whole Help system will soon be reorganised, but for the moment I’ve put a link on Help:Contents and the same information on http://userbase.kde.org/Quick_Start. I have some other ideas that might help, and I’ll put them on the Quick_Start page asap.

I’d like to help translate – how do I request to be added to the Translator group?

Sorry – was busy with helping translators. To all who want to join – send your userbase username to me on annew at kde dot org with your request. Please read the Translate Workflow page, and follow the discussions on the associated Talk page. Thanks

    You write of the page:
    “Special:LanguageStats/your-country-code”
    – Hey, that should be:
    “Special:LanguageStats/your-language-code”
since countries are somewhat different from languages, and quite often have nonmatching codes even if they are related.

You’re absolutely correct – sorry about that.
